Berry U-Pick Time!
We’ve still got plenty of blueberries coming in and are ready to do some strawberry u-picks as well. We’re making the first three Saturdays in June U-Pick days – June 7, 14, and 21 from 10 am to 4 pm.
The blueberries are at our home farm site, while the strawberries are just a 5 minute drive away at our Redman House Farmstand. Come to either one or both to fill up your picking baskets/buckets with fresh berries. For the Blueberry U-Pick, come to the home farm at 521 Harkins Slough Rd. in Watsonville, park in the designated area and follow the signs to walk over to the blueberry patch. For the Strawberry U-Pick, come to the Redman House Farmstand (just off Highway 1 at Riverside Dr. in Watsonville). Park at the Farmstand and check in with Farmstand Manager Mike Lozinski before entering the berry field. He will have flats and baskets if you need them, or you can weigh your own containers before picking.
What do you do with a bucket full of berries? Blueberry muffins, strawberry shortcake, sliced berries on pancakes, strawberry or blueberry jam, strawberry lemonade, frozen berries for smoothies, berries with cereal, berries with yogurt, handfuls of berries for eating plain…
Please bring your own containers if possible. Friends and family are welcome too. No charge for entry. Blueberries cost $5/lb; strawberries cost $2/lb. You do not need to be a current CSA subscriber to come to the u-pick. We recommend close-toed shoes and long pants. Please come only during the designated days and times. Plan to arrive in plenty of time to wrap up your picking by 4:00.
We look forward to seeing you!
